The title of my book was inspired by my life and situations of others very close to me. It captures the character of the extremely influential youth I explore in the book–which is essentially that our youth are disposable and mislead, yet exchangeable, primarily due to their low socioeconomic status.

Fatherlessness and high unemployment rates contribute to youth feeling insufficient and continue to be major hindrances.

The media plays a crucial role in the decisions of today’s youth; however the blame cannot  solely lie there.  Parenting has become a thing of the past and has been replaced by “friendship.”  The teen pregnancy rate is greatly increasing and the gap between the ages of parents and their children are more similar to those of siblings.

There is a lack of guidance and self-respect that has a domino effect on society.  We must embrace our youth and go back to the days where “It takes a village”, holds true meaning.
